makes an all wool pincushion so good? Wool contains lanolin,
so that when you store your pins and needles in a wool cushion,
they are kept lubricated so they slide easily through the fabric
in your project. Also, wool fibers have microscopic scales on
each fiber, so that when your pin or needle is slid through the
felted wool, the scales serve to knock off the tiny burrs that
form on your pins and needles. Scales and oil keep them sharp
and the oil will also keep them rust free. What could be better?
